Marant, famed for her party-girl bohemian essence, kicks off PFW day 4 with a brand new collection that celebrates the highs of the 80s disco-saturated nightlife. The backdrop- reminiscent of a school disco, from the streamers and the balloons flooding the ceiling to the bleachers the FROW were perched on- transported its audience back to the rhapsody of their first school dance. All this Rock-n-roll dance euphoria was bundled into a capsule collection fitting for donning (and partying in) during the heat of summer.

Marant's ensembles showcased her emphasis (with a capital 'e') on the playfulness of Metallic with swatches of Lamé cut into playsuits with structured shoulders and halterneck fastenings, glitter infused

short-shorts and oversized jackets in swatches of pastel pinks and blues- complimented with wide, sloping shoulders. Most of the garments drew attention to the silhouette of the shoulders, naturally, as nod to the power shoulder craze that defined 80's womenswear and the wardrobes of a prominent female workforce.

Her signature bohemian touch was achieve through the use of paisley and crochet as well as healthy dose of fringing and tassels. The most prominent of all materials used was denim: dark denim, stonewashed denim, crafted in into loose kimono waistcoats, skimpy hotpants, boiler jumpsuits -naturally fitting in with the collection's 80s quintessence. Even ensembles lacking that sparkle factor - take Marant's corduroy jumpsuits or tapered slacks- are livened up with dashes of diamante chandelier earrings and belts. Each get-up was adorned with Marant's statement slouched stiletto boots in suedes, denims and PVC.

Of course, the collection couldn't achieve true Isabel Marant finesse without the presence of one of her highly sought-after blazer, with the exaggerated lapels and relaxed cut merging seamlessly with the wet-leather and suede.

The collection was nonchalant, nostalgic and wholly necessary - but in essence highlighted the power of glitter upon glitter.
